I'm Heather Fancourt and I am here for you - the actual you - not the you everyone thinks or expects you to be. You deserve to be (and celebrate) who you are - it's why I do what I do.
The core of my work is helping people to think differently - about themselves, their careers and the people around them.
When we think critically and creatively, we can create shifts in perspective that lead to purpose-led change and much needed acceptance.
As neurodivergent professional, I bring a novel blend of personal experience, extensive training, and playfulness. I'll be honest - when I coach or facilitate my aim is to leave people confused or surprised - because they are the gateways to interest and nothing changes without interest.
My foundational belief is that we will be effective and thrive when we work with who we already are. And room full of lit up people who see the light in others is a potent mix indeed.
Myself and many of the people I work with have been subject to labels - ones they might not always choose for themselves. These range from the offical (autistic, bipolar, ADHD, non-binary, disabled, etc) to the unofficial (lazy, weird, antisocial, dramatic, confrontational, introverted, etc). Whilst they might seem like 'just words', meaning matters and these labels influence how we experience ourselves and the world around us (it was the topic of my MA thesis in Sociology).
But the label tells us nothing about form and function - and that's what matters. Our job is not to find something to fix, it's to find language and actions that are affirming of what works and what serves the individual, team, business or system. I can guarantee you, when people advocate for and get to operate within a framework that means they are seen (by themselves and others) as strong, resourced, valuable and with something to contribute - magic happens.
"When a flower doesn't bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower."

I have been coaching since 2010 and am an EMCC Accredited Senior Practitioner. I have undertaken training in Executive Coaching, Transpersonal Coaching, Applied Positive Psychology Coaching, Executive Function Coaching, Self Belief & Self Doubt coaching, Applied Neuroscience and working with Neurodiversity. Alongside that I work with improv, gestalt and narrative coaching concepts. I have a coach supervisor I work with regularly to improve my coaching and am a member of both the EMCC (European Mentoring and Coaching Council) and the Association for Coaching.
I have worked in Learning & Development for 18 years, some of which has been marketing or managing learning interventions and the bulk of which has been design and delivery of behavioural learning. What others call 'soft skills' I call 'critical skills'. I've held internal learning and development roles in addition to how I currently operate as a consultant for start ups, entrepreneurs, small financial services organisations, professional services firms and a variety of multi-nationals.
I've developed a specialism in inclusive learning with a focus on communication, self belief, wellbeing, behaviour change and creative or critical thinking. It is important to me that my efforts are in service of (neuro)divergent and under-recognised individuals and the systems within which they operate.
I have a dual BA in Communication and Gender Studies and an MA in Sociology (Communication, culture and society) for which I wrote my dissertation on ADHD and the social impact of medical diagnosis for behavioural experience.
"Having Heather as a coach has been an enlightening and positive experience I would highly recommend. I came to Heather looking to address my current work situation, however what we spoke about went so much deeper. As well as identifying my values and current roles, Heather was able to help me re-discover a long term goal I'd hidden away! I came out of every session feeling energised and excited for the future!”
"Heather has an amazing skill to help you focus on your priorities and tackle what has been blocking your path, quite often without you realising! Through working with her I was able to challenge my thoughts, focus on what I wanted, and learn skills to challenge the status quo, making me feel more fulfilled. Whilst life may be a rollercoaster I now have a hand on the steering wheel.”
"Heather is such a good listener and helped me enormously at identifying and moving past a few things that were holding me back. She is very easy to talk to, friendly and very professional. After 6 sessions, I feel like her guidance provided me with a new set of tools to move past old blocks. I could not recommend her more."
